Hannah Kidd/ Rusty Farm gear transformed into Easter Island Watchmen.

A pair of rusty old diesel tanks and a grain silo have been transformed by a Canterbury artist into a trio of monumental sculptures reminiscent of Easter Island.

Artist Hannah Kidd, known for her rustic and characterful sculptures made from old roofing iron, welded metal faces onto the redundant farm equipment to create the new artwork.

The sculptures are like a cross between the ancient Moai sculptures carved by the Rapa Nui on Easter Island and Thomas the Tank Engine, she said.
