The New Zealand Portrait Gallery is showing a 30 year old painting by John Walsh early November 2018. The subject of this painting is an incredible 20 metre portrait of Tologa Bay from 1980 where John grew up. Walsh first started painting portraits as he is a self taught painter, this has eventuated into a more loose, etheral style which has developed over years of practice.
