If at first you don't succeed: Kiwi artist wins big in Venice

In a list of winning artists from around the world there’s one country which stands alone and captures the eye – New Zealand.

 

Nelson artist, Larisse Hall has been entering the prestigious international contemporary art competition, Arte Laguna Prize Venice for several years, but it’s 2022 that has been the magic year for the full-time artist.

 

This Kiwi is making a mark with her talents in Europe, seeing her become a Special Prizes winner in Arte Laguna; receiving an artist in residence at Barcelona’s Espronceda followed by an exhibition in Spain’s coastal city.

 

Being an artist in residence gives her accommodation and artist space for up to six weeks.
