The joy of the grid - exploring edges horizontally, vertically and the spaces between; along with structures built through the meditation of repetition - these are some of the concerns at the heart of Veronica Herber’s practise. Herber is a Christchurch person, and this her first significant show in her home city. Ripped Japanese Washi tape is the material of these mysteriously beautiful abstract patterns. Whether large or small, they seem at times to vibrate with an almost sacred intensity.
